Amazon has just announced the Echo Show, the latest addition to the Echo range of smart home devices.
With the Echo Home, you would be able to stream music from Amazon Music, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Pandora, and TuneIn. So with this feature, you could use your Echo to call someone's Android phone, send a message from your iPhone to someone's Echo Dot, and so on. Much like the iPod device in the film Her, Echo Show can now "show you things", hands free with the 7-inch touchscreen with an undefined resolution. It's capable of showing notifications, playing internet video, showing lyrics on Amazon Music, and it can also allow conversations between different devices in the same house.
The Echo Show can be hooked up to Wi-Fi enabled cameras so that it can show the feeds when asked by the user.
Echo is available in a handful of countries and continues to expand internationally, which will make the incentive to use Alexa's free calling and messaging even stronger.
"Users can also place calls to other Echo or Alexa App users", adds the newspaper. The Huawei Mate 9 features an Alexa app, and certain next-gen Moto handsets will also feature the personal assistant. The device offers video calling to other Echo devices and to those who have downloaded the Echo app on their smartphone. The Echo Show will also display cards for various things like weather, products that users can buy on Amazon, YouTube videos, and more coming in the future.
Echo Show is slated for release on June 28, available for pre-order starting today. Just ask Alexa to make a call and it's done.
If you're going to give the Echo Show a try, be sure to pick two of them up with this discount so you can get the most out of it. Other features include voice over ip phone calls and displaying answers on screen.
