HMD Global, the company that currently hold the licensing rights to Nokia-branded phones, has announced it has partnered with Zeiss camera lenses. However, the company didn't provide any information on exactly which date the smartphone will be available for sale, well, that is left for the fans to guess. Another image also shows a unique thin vertical camera strip at the back of the smartphone on the left side, something that does not fall in line with previous rumours seen about the Nokia 8.
The Nokia brand has finally returned as Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 3310 (2017) smartphones are expected to be available for purchase in various global markets by the end of this month. Over a decade ago, the Nokia and Zeiss brands joined forces to bring the first multi-megapixel phone to the world, the Nokia N90. This long-term agreement builds on the shared history and expertise between ZEISS and Nokia smartphones.
Asked about the specifics of the partnership, Nummela told indianexpress.com that the idea was to create a standard imaging experience.
Zeiss and Nokia had brought imaging revolution the smartphone industry when they first came together.
It will also have 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage with microSD slot, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and 3,000 mAh battery inside.
The price of Nokia 5 in India is Rs 12,899.
The Nokia 6 was launched with Android 7.0 and subsequently received an update to Android 7.1.1 post-launch.
All three devices are priced for the mid-range smartphone space. The standard model of the Nokia 6 is priced at $229 while the Prime Exclusive model can be bought for $1799.99. It added that it's committed "to deliver the ultimate imaging experience possible on a smartphone".
The alleged Nokia 8 also favors a rather unusual camera strip on its back that's located on the extreme left of the device and has been positioned vertically. "Together, we look forward to an exciting journey into the future of sophisticated smartphone imaging", said Dr Matthias Metz, member of the executive board of Zeiss Group.style="text-align: center;"
