The entire press conference can be streamed below. Brows peaked again in Toronto on Wednesday when McGregor doubled down on the questionable comment.
Ahead of the latest presser, McGregor's coach John Kavanagh has dropped perhaps one of the most searing and ominous remarks of the whole media tour on Wednesday. "Hell no. You f-king weasel". They were very vague on the details, there were speeches and all that, I see guys get up, full speeches, I was like [bleeped], I couldn't hear when they were speaking.
After opening in Los Angeles, the fighters brought their hype show to Toronto for the second of four staged promotional stops. Cut the champ's mic off?
Throughout the Irishman's stand-off with the UFC over media obligations a year ago, which saw "The Notorious" pulled from the UFC 200 fight card, it became clear that McGregor is not afraid of clashing with higher-ups. "Floyd is an old, weak b****".
Mayweather (left) and McGregor have a go at each other, with UFC president Dana White (centre) forced to separate them.
There was a genuine disdain built by anyone McGregor lined up against and most who've faced him still hold a grudge to this day.
"You owe money", McGregor retorted, referring to Mayweather's tax problems that were reported earlier this month. "Dress your f**king age!"
As Mayweather draped himself in the green, white and orange, McGregor went and grabbed a wad of cash from Mayweather's bag. "You can't even read", he said, prompting the crowd to erupt in laughter.
The match will take place on August 26 in Las Vegas.
"Shout out to all the stripper b-ches on his payroll".
"He can't even afford a suit anymore", said McGregor.
"If I am being 100 per cent honest I would say no", he said when asked if McGregor was getting into his opponent's head.
"We not talking bout being at the top 1, 2, 3, 4 years.[expletive] 21 years". A stoic Floyd Mayweather did not look perturbed and said,"I still got it. Twenty-one is the number". B-- I do numbers. "You may not think boy means anything, but you've never heard boy from a racist bigot cr***er-ass cr***er from down south".
Kavanagh was speaking at a news conference in Glasgow, where another of his UFC fighters, Gunnar Nelson, is set to face Santiago Ponzinibbio this Sunday and he will jet out to the United States on Monday to re-join McGregor's camp. "If you believe in yourself like you say you believe in yourself, bet your own fight check, you [expletive]".
This time with a working microphone in his hand, McGregor responded in kind. "Send the contract. It's done". "It's done", McGregor said.
Unsurprisingly there have been accusations that both men have crossed the line, with Mayweather also provoking ire by mocking the Irish flag.
"But I'm pretty sure it's 10-8 for Conor in round two!"
Both McGregor and Mayweather kicked off a four-city, three-country global press tour, the first of which took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday.style="text-align: center;"
