Already in the race weekend we were very competitive but today we improved even more: it's true that the track was probably in a better condition than the previous days, but we found some set-up solutions that are better for my riding style and they allowed me to push even harder and go even quicker. "The team did a good job and in general it was a positive day".
Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was one of the last riders to come in and change bikes, dropping back to 14th before starting a fight back with impressive overtaking as he pushed his way to fourth at the chequered flag.
"It's a shame for the pole, because we were close, but the second place is a very good result and front row is a good place to start the race from tomorrow", said Rossi.
The Czech Grand Prix weekend gets underway on Friday morning with the first free practice session at 9.55 am, while the 22-lap race is scheduled for Sunday at 1400 CET.
"The rear tyre was spinning too much, was too soft and I was losing manym many positions". But it depends on the track. I have a good feeling, but that depends on the track, I don't think that for example at a track like Austria this fairing will be very important.
I'm so happy, because it's been a long time since I was able to be in the first position on a Monday. It's a bit more easy to ride, less wheelie, like the wings a year ago.
"When I re-joined the race, honestly it was still too damp in some parts and I almost crashed during the first lap out", said Marquez afterwards.
"Tomorrow we'll see what weather conditions we have, as it looks a bit unstable and not as warm", said Marquez. It's more easy. At the end, apart from this, more or less the same as Saturday. We tried several things on our bike's race setup as it was the ideal day to understand the various settings, also in view of the next Global Positioning System.
"I almost crashed three-four times in the first lap especially, but then I cool down a little bit, I start to warm the tyres well".
